Registration for the second Space Awareness MOOC is now open!
The course starts on 27 February 2017

The registration for the second Space Awareness MOOC “Navigation through the Ages” is now open!

Using the context of space and navigation through the ages, this MOOC will explore the rich history of navigation, from ancient Greece, the fifteenth century European explorers and their missions of global discovery, to the importance of Europe's Galileo programme for the current needs of citizens (mobile devices, increased mobility, safety, security etc.). The course starts on Monday, 27th February 2017. Teachers can register now at the EUN Academy platform.

In this course, participants will learn through practical examples, classroom lesson implementations, teacher interviews and expert guidance how to address their subject through the fascinating history of navigation, how to encourage their students to pursue careers in this field and also how to manage diversity and foster global citizenship.

This course also builds upon the concepts presented in the first Space Awareness MOOC, ‘Teaching with Space and Astronomy in your classroom’. Anyone wishing to join is encouraged to briefly review the topics of Inquiry Based Science Education, ICT tools for space and astronomy, managing diversity and gender balance, and how to introduce space careers to students, before the start of the course.
