The second MOOC "Navigation through the Ages" has officially ended
IT'S STILL ACCESSIBLE, BUT WITHOUT CERTIFICATION

The second Space Awareness Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) "Navigation through the Ages", in a series of four online courses produced by the project, has now officially ended.

Teachers and other education stakeholders participated from all corners of Europe and beyond and during the four modules of the course, they had the chance to learn how navigation builds on contributions of various cultures, how it can be used as a vehicle to broaden children’s minds and develop a sense of European and global citizenship, as well as information on the history of navigation and several navigational tools and terms.

This knowledge was supplement with pedagogical applications, namely classroom footage and interviews with teachers who had implemented guided lesson plans and support documents developed by the Space Awareness project on the topic of Navigation through the Ages.

The MOOC also featured a live webinar about intercultural science and Islamic Heritage Kit, hosted by Cecilia Scorza of House of Astronomy, as well as a TeachMeet with participants who shared best practices and tools for teaching.

The good news is that even though the course has ended, all materials can still be accessed but it is important to note that certification is not available anymore.

The next Space Awareness MOOC “Our Wonderful Universe” will be launched at the end of May 2017. Before taking the upcoming MOOCs, we strongly encourage you to take the first online course in the series, "Teaching with Space and Astronomy in Your Classroom", as it will provide you with basic knowledge and tools of introducing space and astronomy topics to students.

Detailed information on the upcoming MOOCs is available on DEVELOP page.
