Space Scoop Competition - Draw a Comic!
To celebrate the new Space Scoop website and Universe Awareness’ 10 year anniversary, we’re asking our readers to create their very own Space Scoop Comic!

Anyone between the ages of 8 and 18 years is invited to create an original short comic based on one of our Space Scoop stories from www.spacescoop.org. Participants simply select their favourite Space Scoop,download our comic template and let their creativity flow!

We welcome artwork created using traditional media, such as watercolour, pencils, mosaic and chalk, or digital software e.g. Paint, GIMP or Adobe Illustrator.

The overall winner will receive their very own KANO computer, while runners up have the chance to take home prizes including;Galileoscopes and cosmic goodie bags. In addition, the winning artwork will be displayed on the international Universe Awareness website and Space Awareness website. Space Scoop is a Universe Awareness & Space Awareness initiative.

SUBMISSION

Entries must be submitted to the National Contest Organiser (NCO) for your language or region. Entries can be submitted electronically or via post. Scroll down to see the contact details of our National Contest Organisers.

GUIDELINES

- Maximum of one entry per student.

- Entries must created using Space Scoop contest comic template.

- Entries can be drawn in any form: watercolours, pencils, pens, chalk, as well as electronically, using Paint, Adobe Illustrator, GIMP etc.

- Electronic entries will be accepted in the following formats only: jpg, png, pdf. File size must not exceed 1MB.

- Deadline for submission is 11:59PM UTC on 18 November 2016.

- Submission is open to students between 8-18 years from any country, in any language represented by a National Contest Organiser (see list of National Contest Organisers below).

- Each submission should include a contact form, signed and verified by a teacher, parent or guardian.

- Submissions will not be returned.

- Following the Space Scoop copyright license, CC BY 4.0, all the submission will be accounted under the same license. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

- All the entries may be displayed on the Universe Awareness website and on social media.

- Entries have to be original and not previous work or copied from elsewhere.

- Entries must be based on a Space Scoop (www.spacescoop.org)

JUDGING

Entries will be evaluated based on originality, interpretation of subject matter/theme, creative techniques, composition, and overall art appearance.

In each participating country a winner will be selected for each age category. All winners will receive a cosmic goodie bag and a certificate. All winning artwork will be displayed on the international Universe Awareness website.

One winning entry from each country will them be submitted for review by a panel of five judges comprising artists and scientists will review the entries in category level based on the criteria. One runner-up will be selected from each age category to receive a Galileoscope. One overall competition winner will receive a KANO computer
