The third MOOC "Our Wonderful Universe" has officially ended
IT'S STILL ACCESSIBLE, BUT WITHOUT CERTIFICATION

The third Space Awareness Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) "Our Wonderful Universe", in a series of four online courses produced by the project, has now officially ended.

Teachers and other education stakeholders participated from all corners of Europe and beyond. During the four modules of the course, they had the chance to learn how to present and communicate basic information about the Sun, the Moon, the Earth and other planets, as well as other celestial objects. They also learned how to tackle misconceptions about space and astronomy; they became familiarized with various activities and learned how to use them at school or at home. Finally, the course also raised awareness on different space missions and space careers.

This knowledge was supplement with pedagogical applications, namely classroom footage and interviews with teachers who had implemented guided lesson plans and support documents developed by the Space Awareness project on the topic of Our Wonderful Universe.

The MOOC also featured two live webinars on Cassini's mission to Saturn, and Integrating Art with Science and Engineering to Engage and Innovate. In the last module of the MOOC, a live TeachMeet also took place.

The good news is that even though the course has ended, all materials can still be accessed but it is important to note that certification is not available anymore.

The next and last Space Awareness MOOC “Our Fragile Planet” will be launched on 2nd October 2017. Before taking the upcoming MOOC, we strongly encourage you to take the first online course in the series, "Teaching with Space and Astronomy in Your Classroom", as it will provide you with basic knowledge and tools of introducing space and astronomy topics to students.

Detailed information on the upcoming MOOCs is available on DEVELOP page.
